Where is Phoebe Bridgers?

Does anyone have a sighting of Phoebe Bridgers?

Since Boygenius, Bridger’s supergroup with Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker, wrapped up their era of world domination in February 2024, finally capping off promotions for their debut album The Record, the singer hasn’t been seen at all.

OK, there have been a handful of paparazzi pictures of her at gigs or walking down the street, but in the two years of silence, even that has been so rare that it’s left fans straight up wondering where the singer even is, or even musing in Reddit forums with comments like ‘I hope she’s doing OK’.

Part of this seems symptomatic of a quick-paced industry. In the grand scheme of things, two years is not a long time, given that Bridgers and her bandmates were absolutely everywhere before. From the moment the supergroup returned in early 2023, releasing a run of new singles and announcing their debut, it was all guns blazing.

They played Coachella, set off on a tour that spanned seven months and continents, they released the album and did the whole big press run for it, they attended the awards shows and made the appearances, and they even then released a follow-up EP of even more music. So throughout 2023 and 2024, Bridgers wasn’t just busy, she was public-facing busy as the band kept themselves very much present.

So the time off comes as no surprise; it’s much deserved, and really, after the extent of exposure, two years into that long a drought. However, that period is undeniably made to feel worse by the fact that both of her bandmates have already jumped back into their solo careers, as Lucy Dacus released Forever Is a Feeling in 2025, and Julien Baker collaborated with TORRES on Send a Prayer My Way. Bridgers is now the odd one out, having released nothing and not even collaborating on a track.

However, is it all that different? Bridgers has always been one for taking her time, as her second album, Punisher, came years after Stranger in the Alps, so the wait between records has been sizable in the past. We’re coming up to that same gap now as The Record will be three years old in March, but does that mean anything?

So, can we expect new Phoebe Bridgers music soon?

If we’re going purely off patterns and numbers, the dates would suggest that maybe new stuff could be landing soon, yet if we’re doing what we should do, which is let it all come from Bridgers herself, sadly, the answer is literally “who knows?”

Her social media is still completely and utterly blank with no sign of movement. Surely that would be the first port of call, the second anything new was coming, as usually her channels suddenly spark up again with a new profile picture and vibe. But as of yet, there’s nothing.

Perhaps the key is simply to enjoy what other random little works we get from Bridgers in the meantime. It seems like she’s enjoying working behind the scenes more, especially after being loudly critical of celebrity life during the Boygenius tour, telling Them, “I, at one of the lowest points of my life, saw people who claim to love me fucking dehumanise me and shame me and fuck bully me on the way to my dad’s wake.” That moment in 2023 seemed to be a breaking point that completely altered her relationship with her fans and her view on her fame, telling her own followers who overstep her boundaries, “I fucking hate you, and I hope you grow the fuck up”.

So with that wound, along with the grief of her father’s death during her busy period, it only adds to the understanding of why Bridgers’ solo return is taking some time.

Meanwhile, she’s been working more as a producer: along with her bandmates, they produced Jasmine4t’s debut album, and then in 2024 she produced Christian Lee Hutson’s Pop Paradise 10. From rumours online, she’s currently working with other artists too, still focusing on production for smaller, rising artists she believes in.

On the business side too, Bridgers owns the label Saddest Factory Records, which releases the music of MUNA, Claud, Jasmine4t and more; so, for now, maybe fans just have to be content with that, and be patient for as long as it takes.
