Wet Leg tease return and hint at new music: “We’re so back”

Wet Leg have taken to social media to tease a return and new music, three years on from the release of their 2022 self-titled debut album.

The band posted a picture of themselves on Instagram and X on March 17th, posing on a sofa with soft toys and a strange zombie-like figure in between them. They simply captioned the photo with the words “We’re so back.”

On their website, a vintage pop-up message reads: “Salutations, lonely heart. You have wandered far, but you are home now. Enter Moisturizer Valley – where the skin never cracks, and the body never withers. Enroll now. Learn how to live forever.”

Fans can then sign up for updates, indicating new sonic releases or tour dates on the horizon.

These small signs of life mark a long-awaited return for the British indie duo, made up of Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers, whose debut album shot them out of obscurity three years ago straight to the top of the charts.

However, their comeback was already being touted with upcoming appearances at festivals, including Primavera in Portugal, TRNSMT in Glasgow, and Wilderness Festival in Oxfordshire, previously announced for this summer.

In 2022, Wet Leg told NME that new material for the upcoming album was “very good, excellent” and as “like the last one, but longer, bigger, better, faster, stronger and more fluorescent”.

With the breakout virality of debut single ‘Chaise Longue’ in 2021, Wet Leg capitalised on their success and have since headlined festivals in the UK. Currently, there is no specific date for the release of new music.
