Wet Leg reveal single ‘Davina McCall’ from upcoming album ‘Moisturizer’

Wet Leg have revealed their third single from their upcoming album Moisturizer, a rock ballad called ‘Davina McCall’, named after the television presenter.

The song follows the already released singles ‘CPR’ and ‘Catch These Fists’ ahead of the release of Moisturizer, which is set to hit the airwaves on July 11th.

The press release for ‘Davina McCall’ says the song is “a soft, lovelorn ballad that takes a cheeky premise – Big Brother and Shakira – and coats it in a sense of earnestness that’s new for Wet Leg; it’s a song about pure, unadulterated devotion.”

This was solidified by the band’s co-founder Hester Chambers, who said of the tune: “Ellis and I were on the edge of our seats being like, ‘We’re gonna get this, we’re completing the puzzle’.”

The announcement of the new single also came with the news that Wet Leg have confirmed an outstore performance at the Electric Ballroom in Brixton, along with the other range of appearances they have already revealed.

Wet Leg will also play a range of festival dates across this summer, including Roskilde Festival in Denmark and TRNSMT in Glasgow. They are also set to play the Other Stage at Glastonbury on June 27th.

In its review of the band’s comeback single ‘Catch These Fists’, Far Out said: “[Rhian] Teasdale’s sardonic sprechgesang is still here, and there are sure to be small snippets that get quoted to death for the remainder of the summer like their previous singles have proffered, with the pre-chorus chants of ‘man down’ and ‘level up’, and ‘stupid is, stupid does’ being the most likely candidates.”

Moisturizer will be released on July 11th.
