
Watch the first trailer for Christopher Nolan’s new epic, ‘The Odyssey’
The first trailer has finally arrived for director Christopher Nolan‘s highly anticipated epic, The Odyssey.
The forthcoming blockbuster, set to arrive on July 17th, 2026, boasts an all-star cast including Matt Damon, Tom Holland, Robert Pattinson, Jon Bernthal, Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, Lupita Nyong’o, and Mia Goth.
Now, with less than seven months to go until The Odyssey hits screens across the globe, the first glimpse of Damon as Odysseus, who is leading his army of men back home following a hellish journey that has left them shipwrecked.
“After years of war, no one could stand between my men and home. Not even me,” Odysseus says in the trailer.
At another stage, Odysseus is also asked by his wife Penelope, played by Hathaway, “Promise me you will come back,” to which he heartbrakingly replies, “What if I can’t?”
Elsewhere in the trailer, audiences see Tom Holland as Odysseus and Penelope’s son, Telemachus, for the first time.
Last month, Damon broke his silence on the project, telling Empire that it’s “exactly what you want of a summer movie.”
Additionally, he said, “Without hyperbole, that it was the best experience of my career.”
Similarly, Tom Holland said in July, “It was amazing. The job of a lifetime, without a doubt. The best experience I’ve had on the film set. Incredible. It was exciting. It was different. And I think the movie is going to be unlike anything we’ve ever seen.”
In addition to directing The Odyssey, Nolan also wrote the script and produced the movie with his wife, Emma Thomas.
The Odyssey is set to be released in cinemas worldwide on July 17th, 2026, through Universal Pictures.
