Watch Shania Twain join Sabrina Carpenter at Austin City Limits

Sabrina Carpenter had a huge surprise in store for fans in attendance at her Austin City Limits performance, as she invited Shania Twain to share the stage with her.

The singer-songwriter was headlining the first weekend of the festival at Zilker Park in Austin, Texas, on October 4th, when she announced that the Canadian country-pop star would share the stage for a song.

She introduced Twain with the remark, “I thought it’d be fun to give you guys a little gift tonight, give you a little present, because you all showed up and showed out for all of us. Austin, will you please make the most noise in the world for the incredible, one and only Shania Twain!”

Together, they flew through Twain’s ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much‘. The song was released on December 7th, 1998, as the sixth country single from her 1997 album, Come On Over.

The pair have collaborated before, most notably on the A Nonsense Christmas With Sabrina Carpenter, the one-off 2024 Christmas special, on which they sang ‘Santa Baby’ together.

Elsewhere, it was recently announced that Sabrina will take on the double role of hosting Saturday Night Live, while also being the music guest. Carpenter has previously appeared as a musical guest in May 2024 but has never hosted before.

Writing previously on the merits of her latest release, Man’s Best Friend, Far Out observed, “Carpenter’s desire to deliver music meant to turn the brain off and merely enjoy and dance to, doesn’t mean that her brain was off when she made it. Any music maker will tell you that it takes talent to create a catchy tune, and whether you love or hate ‘Espresso’, it was guaranteed to be stuck in your head. Stupidity doesn’t buy that, nor does it buy a career like the one Carpenter is forging and will further forge with this new record.”
