Bad Bunny and Sabrina Carpenter confirmed to host ‘Saturday Night Live’

Bad Bunny, Sabrina Carpenter and Amy Poehler have been announced as hosts of the first three episodes of the upcoming season Saturday Night Live.

The longrunning NBC primetime show is set to return for its 51st season on October 4th with Bad Bunny on hosting duties for the second time. Unlike his last appearance in 2023, the Puerto Rican star won’t be pulling double duty again, as Doja Cat is set to serve as the musical guest.

On October 11th, 30 Rock will be welcoming back somebody who knows the building all too well as Amy Poehler is on hosting duties. The comedian was previously a cast member between 2001 and 2008, hosting the Weekend Update for four years. This upcoming appearance marks her third time as host. Role Model is set to be the musical guest.

Then, on October 18th, Sabrina Carpenter will be on double duty, acting as both Saturday Night Live’s host and musical guest. The singer, who recently topped the charts with her album Man’s Best Friend, appeared as a musical guest in May 2024 but has never hosted before.

Last week, Saturday Night Live confirmed its cast for the upcoming 51st season following a seismic shake-up that saw many faces leave, and several new ones arrive.

Heidi Gardner, Michael Longfellow, Devon Walker, and Emil Wakim announced their time on Saturday Night Live had come to an end. Additionally, Please Don’t Destroy’s John Higgins has also left the programme, while the trio’s Ben Marshall has been promoted to featured cast member status.

Joining Marshall as a new featured cast member for the new series are Kam Patterson, Jeremy Culhane, Veronika Slowikowska and Tommy Brennan.

However, most notably, Ego Nwodim has quit Saturday Night Live after seven seasons. She shared with fans, “The hardest part of a great party is knowing when to say goodnight. But after seven unforgettable seasons, I have decided to leave SNL.”

Saturday Night Live returns on October 4th.
