Watch Coldplay play ‘Roll With It’ by Oasis at Wembley Stadium

As Coldplay got their Wembley Stadium residency underway on August 22nd, the pop band playfully covered a portion of ‘Roll With It’ by Oasis.

This summer, Wembley Stadium has staged concerts from the biggest names in music, including Lana Del Rey, Blackpink, Guns N’ Roses, Dua Lipa, and most notably, Oasis. Now, it’s Coldplay’s turn. They are set to play ten shows at the iconic stadium as part of their Music of the Spheres tour, which is a new record for the most concerts by one act at Wembley Stadium in a single calendar year.

During the first of the ten concerts, the Chris Martin-led group delivered a 23-song set, playing early hits such as ‘The Scientist’ and ‘Yellow’, as well as more modern cuts like ‘Higher Power’ and ‘We Pray’.

For the third song of the night, ‘Paradise’, Coldplay offered up an extended intro to the track, which included a portion of the Oasis classic, ‘Roll With It’, which was met warmly by those in attendance at Wembley Stadium.

Liam Gallagher has previously insulted Coldplay on numerous occasions throughout his career, but they put their problems aside in 2017 for a greater cause at One Love Manchester. The fundraiser concert came after a terrorist attack at an Ariana Grande show at the AO Arena, with Coldplay serving as Liam’s backing band as he performed ‘Live Forever’ at Emirates Old Trafford.

The Oasis frontman later told Apple Music’s Zane Lowe that he apologised for his past remarks before the show, revealing, “I got in the dressing room and said ‘I apologise for everything I said before, I was being a dickhead.”

Thankfully, Martin told him there was no need to apologise, and told Liam, “We fucking love it.”

Meanwhile, last month, Liam addressed the scandal involving tech CEO Andy Byron, who was caught having an affair with a colleague at a Coldplay show in Boston. During an Oasis show at Heaton Park in Manchester, he humorously told the crowd, “Right then, do we have any lovebirds in the house? Don’t worry, we don’t have any of that Coldplay snidey fucking camera shit.”

Liam added: “It doesn’t matter to us who you’re fucking mingling with, tinkering with, fingering with. None of our fucking business. This one is for the lovebirds, anyway.”
