Warpaint’s Jenny Lee shares dreamy cover of Fugazi classic ‘I’m So Tired’

Jenny Lee Lindberg, the singer-songwriter who is best known as the bassist in Warpaint, has released a cover of Fugazi classic ‘I’m So Tired’ as part of her solo project.

While the band work on their new album, Lindberg released her first solo album, Right On!, under the name “Jennylee” and has continued to intermittently share music through this outlet in recent years. Now, she has produced her take on the 1999 song, ‘I’m So Tired’.

The track, which originally featured on the Fugazi album Instrument Soundtrack, arrived as a surprise addition given the severe difference in a style that the band had pioneered up until that point. The song, a piano ballad, was played and sung by Ian MacKaye.

“I love, admire and respect Fugazi with my whole heart… always have,” Jenny Lee said in a statement. “The sentiment of ‘I’m so tired’ is deeply moving and extremely relatable. It was such a pleasure and a pleasant surprise I was able to pull this off.

“I hope I did it justice, it sure was FUN (and that’s the point of it all). Big love and kudos to Fugazi forever.”
