Vampire Weekend share two new songs

Vampire Weekend have shared two new songs: ‘This Life’ and ‘Unbearably White’.

The first track, ‘This Life’, introduces a new collaboration for the band as HAIM’s very own Danielle Haim features on backing vocals. Vampire Weekend frontman Ezra Koenig worked on the production of the song alongside Ariel Rechtshaid and Dave Macklovitch.

On the track, Koenig incorporates lyrics from iLoveMakonnen’s song ‘Tonight’ as he sings the lyrics: “You’ve been cheatin’ on, cheatin’ on me/I’ve been cheatin’ on, cheatin’ on you.”

The second number, ‘Unbearably White’, was again written and produced by Koenig alongside Rechtshaid. Howeverm the duo did recruit additional production by BloodPop for the song.

The tracks released by Vampire Weekend have been taken from their upcoming new album Father of the Bride.

The record, which will be the follow-up to 2013’s Modern Vampires of the City, is due to be released on May 3rd. The album will be made up of 18 songs and run for around 59 minutes. According to Koenig, the vinyl edition of the record will be released on two LPs.
