Unknown actor reportedly testing for new James Bond role

With the announcement of the upcoming James Bond reboot at Amazon, many people have been speculating who will play the lead character.

While Amazon have reportedly been auditioning many actors for the part, the studio have allegedly been testing an unknown British actor for the part.

According to sources close to the production, a 37 year-old actor Scott Rose-Marsh has been testing for the role, with recent credits in Krays: Code of Silence and Wolves of War. The actor was allegedly brought in to audition in late June, reading sides from the 1995 Bond film GoldenEye.

It was recently announced that Denis Villeneuve would be directing the upcoming franchise, with Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, attached to write the script. Regardless of the material that the Rose-Marsh was given, a source claims that the actor was only given one piece of direction – to not impersonate a previous Bond.

If Rose-Marsh has been testing for the role, it perhaps dismisses the theory that Amazon are looking to cast a twenty-something actor in the lead role, with many fans of the series speculating that the studio might do so to lure in younger audiences.

Amazon purchased the rights to the franchise this year, spending $1 billion on the series and taking full creative control from the Broccoli family.

However, the casting of the series is still very unclear, with many rumours circulating about the uncertainty of this after Jeff Bezos recently announced that he would like his wife, Lauren Sanchez, to star in the series.
