Tom Morello postpones London and Paris concerts due to family emergency
Tom Morello has been forced to postpone two shows on his European tour due to a family emergency.
Morello was due to perform at Electric Brixton in London on June 15th and the Bataclan in Paris on June 16th, but both shows have now been pushed back to a later date.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Morello shared on June 15th, “Due to a family emergency I am so sorry to postpone my London and Paris shows.”
The former Rage Against The Machine guitarist continued, “I have so much love and respect for all our friends and fans there and hope you rebook these shows as soon as possible.”
He concluded the post by writing, “Thank you for your understanding.”
As of writing, no rescheduled date for either show has been confirmed. However, Electric Brixton confirmed on their website that all tickets will remain valid for a rescheduled date.
It remains to be seen whether future dates on his ongoing European tour will be affected by the family emergency.
Morello is due to play festivals later this week in Belgium, France and the Netherlands, as well as a sold-out headline date in Nijmegen on June 22nd.
He will then round out his European adventure with trips to Copenhagen and Oslo, before appearing at BBK Live in Bilbao on June 27th.
Morello’s European festival run saw him appear at Download in the UK over the weekend, using his set to send a pointed message to far-right activist Tommy Robinson.
On the back of his guitar, he had written “Fuck Tommy Robinson,” which was picked up on the big screen as Morello held it up to the camera. The rock icon has since shared the image with his followers on his X account.
Additionally, last week, at Rock for People in Czechia, he had “Smrt fasismu” written on the back of his guitar, which translates to “Death to fascism”.
Meanwhile, Morello recently released the anti-fascist anthem, titled ‘Adjourn It’, which also features his 15-year-old son, Roman.
