Tom Misch announces new album, ‘Full Circle’
London artist Tom Misch has announced his new album, Full Circle, is set for a March 27th release.
Misch released his debut album, Geography, in 2018, which he followed up in 2020 with the Yussef Dayes collaborative record, What Kinda Music. In 2023, he shared the project Happy Music under the alias of Supershy.
Now, Misch has announced his return with Full Circle, which promises to be “his most personal and honest.” In line with the announcement, he has released the album’s first single, ‘Sisters With Me’.
Though Misch inspired a generation of bedroom producers and artists with his early SoundCloud releases in 2012, on this album, he has deliberately moved away from production-led music-making, stepping out of Logic Pro to focus on classic songwriting, expanded with a full band.
Regarding the upcoming personal release, Misch has cited artists like Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell, Neil Young, John Martyn, and John Taylor as key influences.
Misch, who hasn’t toured since 2022, recently revealed to fans that the huge level of fame he experienced took a toll on his mental health. On social media, he wrote, “A few years ago the intensity of it all caught up with me and came at a cost to my mental health and I stepped back for a while.”
He went on to add, “Taking some time away has definitely been needed and very formative for me… exploring who I am outside of this project and trying all sorts of new things… and very importantly spending more time with family and friends.”
In the wake of the release of Full Circle, Misch is set to play two headline shows at London’s KOKO on April 1st and 2nd.
However, Misch previously confessed that heavy touring won’t be on the cards. Misch shared, “I also hope to do some touring… but the shows will be small and I won’t be doing many of them.”
