It seems Tom Hardy isn’t leaving ‘MobLand’ after all

After much speculation, it appears that Tom Hardy is set to remain part of MobLand for season three.

The second series of the series is yet to air, but production is under wraps and plans have since begun for the third instalment despite it not receiving the official green light at the present moment.

However, last month, Puck reported that Hardy frequently clashed with the show’s producers, Jez Butterworth and David Glasser, as well as having creative disagreements over the direction of season two.

It was also alleged that Butterworth threatened to walk away from the show amid the disputes with Hardy on-set.

Puck‘s report claims: “Hardy was apparently late to set a bunch, constantly asked to give notes on scripts, attempted to change dialogue, and expressed his displeasure that a series initially built around him was increasingly becoming an ensemble showcase for Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, and other co-stars.”

Now, it appears they have got past their issues and put water under the bridge, which will allow Hardy to continue.

Deadline reports that a private meeting was held between Hardy, Butterworth and Glasser, which went positively. As a result, Hardy is going nowhere.

It also comes after his co-star Helen Mirren gave Hardy her public support. The 80-year-old star said of him, “I love Tom – I think he’s the most amazing actor. I’ve always loved him on screen.”

Mirren also described him as “a very special person” with “the kindest heart”, before reaffirming that her “support of him is genuine and heartfelt”.

In MobLand, Hardy plays the crucial character Harry De Souza, who works as a fixer for the Harrigan crime family, headed up by Pierce Brosnan’s Conrad and Mirren’s Maeve.

The first season of MobLand was a triumph for Paramount+ and proved to be one of the most successful original series that the streaming platform has produced, topping the viewing charts in the United Kingdom.
