The Style Council announce ‘Café Bleu Special Edition’ featuring unreleased tracks

The Style Council have confirmed details of a new expanded edition of their classic album, Café Bleu.

Café Bleu Special Edition is set to be released on January 30th, 2026, via Universal Recordings and will be available as a six-CD set, as well as a triple-vinyl LP.

Café Bleu was the debut album by the pop group that Weller formed with Mick Talbot following the end of The Jam in 1982. It contained hit tracks including ‘My Ever Changing Moods’, ‘You’re The Best Thing’, and ‘The Paris Match’.

The first disc of the box set includes an extended edition of Introducing… The Style Council, which was previously only available as a Dutch import. Then, the second disc is Café Bleu in full, with the third disc boasting all related singles to the album, as well as B-sides, remixes, and demos from that era.

The fourth disc features unreleased demos, outtakes and alternate versions, such as a demo of ‘Long Hot Summer’ from August 1982, ‘Boy Hairdresser’, which was written for Tracie Young, ‘Summertime Song’, as well as Talbot’s instrumentals, ‘Party Chambers’ and ‘Mick’s Demo’.

Finally, the fifth and sixth discs will consist of live recordings, including those from Cheltenham’s Gold Diggers and London’s Dominion Theatre, as well as sessions for BBC Radio One and Saturday Live.

The Style Council split in 1989, and since then, Weller has focused on his solo career. However, he did join forces with Talbot in 2020 to reflect upon their time as The Style Council for the Sky Arts documentary, Long Hot Summers: The Story of the Style Council.

Next summer, Weller will be taking to outdoor venues across the UK, which will take him across the country and kick off at the Open Air Theatre in Scarborough on June 12th. He will also perform across June at Lincoln Castle, The Piece Hall in Halifax, The Pier Head in Liverpool and the Southampton Summer Sessions.

The run of dates will then conclude in July with shows at Dreamland in Margate, Bedford Summer Sessions, and the Exhibition Park in Newcastle.
