The Strokes delay new album and announce huge homecoming show in New York

The Strokes have confirmed details of their return to New York City for a homecoming show later this year, but have sadly delayed their new album, Reality Awaits.

The indie icons notably left New York off their list of destinations for their upcoming North American tour, but now it has been revealed they will be performing at Flushing Meadows Corona Park on October 2nd, 2026.

For the special show, which will mark their first concert in New York since 2023, The Strokes will be joined by Beach House, TV on the Radio and Fcukers.

Registration is open for pre-sale now, which will go on sale on June 17th at 10am local time, before tickets will become available to the general public on June 18th at 10am.

Additionally, local residents in Queens, whose zip codes are 11368, 11355, 11375, or 11367, are eligible for a 20 per cent discount on general admission tickets from June 18th to August 30th or until sold out.

However, the wait goes on for The Strokes’ first album in six years, Reality Awaits, which was set to be released on June 26th, but will now arrive on July 24th. It has, so far, been previewed by ‘Going Shopping’ and ‘Falling Out of Love’.

Following the end of their North American tour at Flushing Meadows, they will kick off the European leg at The O2 in London on October 6th, which will be followed by dates in Amsterdam, Düsseldorf, Berlin, Bologna, Barcelona, Paris, Newcastle, Manchester, and Dublin.

Across the North American and European dates, they will be bringing a series of pretty special guests along for the ride, too, with support coming from Thundercat, Cage the Elephant, Hamilton Leithauser, Fat White Family, Alex Cameron, and ÖLÜM.

Notably, guitarist Nick Valensi will miss their upcoming tour. Last month, it was announced by The Strokes that he was “taking a temporary break from the scheduled tour,” and Steve Schiltz would be deputising for him.
