The Spitfires release new song ‘4AM’

It’s Watford four-piece The Spitfires that bring you Track of the Day today with their latest release ‘4AM’, arriving as the second song to be taken from their up and coming debut album Response.

It’s a super catchy piece of good old fashion British guitar music, with an obvious tip of the hat to the Jam, with front-man Billy Sullivan Weller-esque in his delivery of ‘4AM’s’ angsty vocals.

In typical start up band fashion this is a nod to the pains and poverty of everyday life, In Sullivan’s own words he says:

“It’s just about being skint and how it makes general living a struggle. Your girlfriend thinks she deserves better than you, the landlord’s driving you mad because you haven’t paid the rent and in the end you lay awake at night thinking about it. Lyrically I’m not trying to be sophisticated or particularly clever – just painting a picture of mundane life.”

The Spitfires debut album Response is set for release on August 21 on their own Catch 22 record label, via Republic of Music.
