The Rolling Stones have released a tribute video in honour of their late drummer Charlie Watts, who passed away last week.
The two-minute clip comprises archive footage that spans his entire career with the band with the track ‘If You Can’t Rock Me’ forming the soundtrack.
Aside from this touching tribute video from the band, the world of music has equally adorned the late star, with Paul McCartney describing Watts as a “fantastic drummer. Steady as a rock. Love you Charlie. Always loved you. A beautiful man, and great condolences and sympathies to his family.”
And Elton John added: “The ultimate drummer. The most stylish of men, and such brilliant company,” and calls the time of his passing “a very sad day.”
While Brian Wilson also remarked: “I don’t know what to say, I feel terrible for Charlie’s family. Charlie was a great drummer and I loved the Stones music, they made great records.”
This latest video clip comes from the band’s Twitter account with the lyrics “The band’s on stage and it’s one of those nights, oh yeah /The drummer thinks that he is dynamite, oh yeah” proving particularly poignant.
