The Regrettes announce split and final farewell show

Los Angeles punk rock band The Regrettes have announced they will be “parting ways” following a final farewell show.

Taking to their social media accounts, the band explained their decision to break up was based on a desire to focus on other projects. They added that a final show will be taking place on December 21st at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles.

The group wrote: “If you’re reading this or you’ve been to a show or bought a record, you’ve given us all some of the best years of our lives. After all these amazing years together, we are parting ways to focus on other projects.”

The Regrettes also said there is “absolutely nothing but love in our hearts for each other,” and they hope for their final show to be a place to “dance and celebrate the end of an incredible run.”

After forming in 2015, The Regrettes gained popularity thanks to their seamless fusion of punk, pop, and rock, delivering catchy tunes with a raw, energetic edge. The group initially consisted of lead vocalist and guitarist Lydia Night, Genessa Gariano on guitar, Sage Chavis on bass, and drummer Maxx Morando.

Known for their outspoken lyrics addressing social issues, personal experiences, and empowerment, The Regrettes gained attention for their bold, unapologetic approach to songwriting. Their music often touched on themes such as feminism, mental health, and navigating the challenges of youth.

They released their debut studio album, Feel Your Feelings Fool! in 2017, which received positive reviews for its catchy hooks and honest lyricism. The band also covered a number of hit songs, including Robyn’s ‘Dancing On My Own’, Lily Allen’s ‘Smile’, and Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ ‘Soft Shock’.

Over the years, The Regrettes toured extensively, gaining a dedicated fanbase through their live performances and continued to release music that resonated with audiences looking for empowering and relatable tunes.
