The music world is still mourning the passing of an original punk in every sense of the word, Pete Shelley, the late lead singer of the Buzzcocks who sadly passed away yesterday.

Shelley’s influence on music is undeniable and that can be seen in the wealth of posts from the musical world who shared stories, condolences but most tales of how Shelley’s Buzzcocks inspired them in one way or another.

Messages came from Billie Joe Armstrong, UMO, Billy Corgan, Glen Matlock, Belle & Sebastian, Edgar Wright and hundreds more. Shelley will forever be known for being able to break a song down to its most essential component and then making you wanna dance the night away to it.

He will be sorely missed but never, ever forgotten.
