The Maccabees to release 10th anniversary edition of ‘Marks to Prove It’

The Maccabees have announced plans to release a 10th anniversary edition of their final album, Marks to Prove It, and shared the long-lost B-side, ‘Koya’, on streaming platforms.

Released in 2015, the indie five-piece’s fifth record became their first to top the UK Album Chart, and now, it is set to be reissued on November 28th.

The announcement comes off the back of a summer to remember for The Maccabees that saw them reunite for a string of shows, including headlining All Points East in London, and The Park Stage at Glastonbury Festival.

Guitarist Felix White says of the expanded edition of Marks to Prove It, “We didn’t know it would be the last album we made at the time but, with some distance, it’s the probably the closest thing to a definitive Maccabees album, with a part of all the versions of us before in it.”

White continued, “It was a really committed time – where all our lives and focus was going into this music for better or for worse – and ten years on, that is really something you can hear in it.”

The triple-disc anniversary edition includes the original album on the first disc, featuring beloved Maccabees cuts such as ‘Kamakura’ and ‘Something Like Happiness’. The second disc is a selection of B-sides, including ‘Koya’, and acoustic versions of album tracks.

Lastly, the final disc comprises their set from the Other Stage at Glastonbury in 2015, which saw Jamie T join them for a rendition of ‘Marks to Prove It’. Notably, Jamie T, whose last album was produced by The Maccabees’ Hugo White, also performed the track with them at All Points East this summer.

In June, The Maccabees were Far Out’s Cover Stars for the month, and during the interview, Felix White reflected of their time away, “When I think of the Maccabees, it does feel like it wasn’t me that did it,” he shared. “It does feel like another person because so much has happened in those ten years between the Glastonbury or whatever is, you know, like so much life, away from each other.”
