The Kills release new single ‘Wasterpiece’

New York indie duo The Kills have released new single ‘Wasterpiece’ – featuring layered vocals from both Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince, from their upcoming album God Games.

The single is accompanied by the announcement of a 30-date tour across North America, including stops at landmark venues including Webster Hall in New York City and The Wiltern in Los Angeles.

While the previous singles delved into The Kills’ contemplation of anxieties, whether of a personal or collective nature, regarding the concept of place and global habitability, ‘Wasterpiece’ showcases The Kills’ signature seductive confidence, a defining trait throughout their illustrious career.

Their sixth album God Games marks the band’s first full-length album release since 2016’s Ash & Ice. In August, The Kills released the single ‘103’, a buzzy electronic track which appeared more spacey and open than most of the band’s work, edging closely to a true-blue ballad.

While The Kills never officially disbanded, Mosshart dedicated most of the early 2010s to her role in the supergroup The Dead Weather alongside Jack White.

As a result, The Kills experienced a significant gap in their discography, with only one album released between 2012 and 2023. However, this drought is set to conclude as they prepare to launch God Games, marking their first new release of any kind since the 2020 compilation album Little Bastards.
