Cincinnati band The Heavy Hours have shared their debut single ‘Don’t Walk Away’ which was co-written with fellow Ohioan and Black Keys frontman Dan Auerbach and it arrives as Far Out’s ‘Track of the Day’.
The beautiful Americana anthem is filled with joyous, infectious hooks and Auerbach’s eye for talent can’t be underestimated with him unearthing an absolute gem in this exciting quartet.
“We co-wrote this song with Dan Auerbach at his studio down in Nashville,” the band said to American Songwriter. “Dan is the man. We huddled around his kitchen table and started pitching ideas, humming melodies, it was one of those songs that sort of wrote itself.”
Adding: “We wrote it so that it could be someone’s favourite song. Give this song your love stories and your heartache and let it lift you into resolve. You’ll get out of it what you put into it.”
The track is a beautiful breath of fresh air that takes the listener to this place of tranquillity which is the perfect summer playlist essential that you need in your life right now.
The Heavy Hours’ debut is also the latest episode of Far Out Magazine’s new Facebook series ‘Emerging Sounds’, a project which shines a light on some of the best new music that’s simmering under the radar right now. The song is also taking our Track of the Day slot.
The series so far has featured the likes of King No-One and Jaws frontman Connor Schofield’s new electronic side-project MORE*FIRE.
