Charlie DeCarlo premieres visuals for ‘Hold Your Ground’

New Yorker Charlie DeCarlo has premiered the visuals for his brand new single, ‘Hold Your Ground’, arriving as Far Out Magazine’s Track of the Day.

The gorgeous new material has been released as the lead single from DeCarlo’s upcoming debut album Paper Birds which is due later this year.

Speaking about the track, DeCarlo told Far Out: “I wrote ‘Hold Your Ground’ about a person who is cautiously optimistic about a new romantic relationship. The character in this song feels vulnerable while unexpectedly falling in love. He’s afraid of change and unfamiliar with how to manage new feelings for his partner.”

He added: “I was really happy with how the music video turned out. To me, the concept of the paper bag represents someone who is afraid and maybe even ashamed to express their thoughts and emotions.

DeCarlo’s new tune is the latest episode of Far Out Magazine’s new Facebook series ‘Emerging Sounds’, a project which shines a light on some of the best new music that’s simmering under the radar right now.

The series so far has featured the likes of The Snuts and Jaws frontman Connor Schofield’s new electronic side-project MORE*FIRE.
