The Cure announced to headline another major European festival

The Cure have been confirmed as headliners of the Nova Rock festival in Austria next summer.

Their set at the Austrian festival, which is held in the Burgenland region of the country, will take place on June 12th, 2026. Iron Maiden, Bring Me The Horizon, and Volbeat will also headline the four-day event.

Nova Rock has unveiled its full line-up, which also includes The Offspring, Papa Roach, Bad Omens, Kaleo, Trivium, Soft Play, Ice Nine Kills, The Pretty Reckless, President, Alter Bridge, All Time Low, and Just Mustard.

Seemingly, The Cure will be embarking upon a run of European festival headline slots next summer, as they were announced last week to top the bill at Rock En Seine in Paris, which will take place more than two months after Nova Rock.

Their most recent tour took place in late 2023, when they ventured across South America. In recent years, they have also completed extensive tours of the United Kingdom, Europe and North America.

However, following the release of their first album in 16 years, 2024’s Songs of a Lost World, they have only played one full-length show, which took place at The Troxy in London on the day the album arrived last November.

After they were announced for Rock En Seine, The Cure’s Roger O’Donnell hinted that many more live show announcements were due for 2026, writing on X, “First of the summer to announce… cant wait”.

As of yet, The Cure have not announced any UK dates for 2026, and it remains to be seen whether it will be on their itinerary for next summer. They last headlined BST Hyde Park in 2018, and also topped the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury in 2019, but Worthy Farm will be on a fallow year in 2026, which means it is off the table.
