The Cult announce plans to step away from touring
The Cult have announced plans to take a hiatus touring and to focus on making new music.
They are currently on tour in the United States and have a handful of shows left, including stops in Las Vegas, San Francisco, and San Diego, before the run concludes on October 30th at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
The Cult began their statement by telling fans, “Mother Nature has a cycle of change and evolution that is inevitable. The moon’s phases change, tides rise and fall. Change is necessary for creation and rebirth.”
They continued, “It is with this in mind that, following the remaining dates on our current North American The Cult/Death Cult 8525 Tour, we have decided to step away from touring for an undetermined amount of time.”
The rock band then explained the decision to leave the road behind, “We have toured extensively over the last few years, and we shall now shift our focus to writing, recording new music, and exploring other projects that shall be revealed over time. It is a time for us to turn inward to recharge our spiritual batteries.”
Although there is no timeline as to when The Cult will tour again, they believe that day will eventually come, adding, “When we return to the stage, it shall be with an even stronger fire and energy that we will share with all of you.”
The ‘She Sells Sanctuary’ rockers also praised the unique relationship with their fanbase, writing, “Ours is a communal bond, and it will not be broken, simply paused.”
The Cult concluded by encouraging those to attend their final show (for now) in Los Angeles on October 30th, stating, “Please join us for what has been an incredible celebration of 40 years of The Cult and Death Cult.”
The group’s last album, Under the Midnight Sun, arrived in 2022. They last toured the UK in late 2024, including dates at the Royal Albert Hall and the Roundhouse in London.
