The Cribs share new single ‘A Point Too Hard To Make’ and announce huge headline show in Leeds

The Cribs have continued to tease their upcoming album Selling A Vibe with the new single, ‘A Point Too Hard To Make’.

The new record, set to arrive on January 9th, 2026, is the ninth album from the Jarman brothers, which they previewed back in August with ‘Summer Seizures’.

In a statement, the band’s bassist and vocalist, Gary Jarman, explained how the new single is inspired by the past, sharing, “All that 2000’s damage, basically. Small-town romantics – years spent longing for connection, escape, excitement – given in abundance, for an entire decade.”

Jarman added: “What do you do when the party is over? Where does it leave you? We will let you know if/when we get there. We’ve still got each other though. That’s what this one is about, a bit of a kitchen-sinker, really.”

Additionally, The Cribs have confirmed details of a huge homecoming show in Yorkshire next summer at Millennium Square in Leeds on July 11th. They previously played the same outdoor venue in the heart of the city in 2016, and now, a decade later, will be back for round two.

The big summer show will come after their tour in support of Selling A Vibe, which is set to kick off at the Boiler Shop in Newcastle on March 20th ahead of stops in Sheffield, Manchester, Birmingham, Nottingham, Cardiff and two dates in Brighton.

Upon announcing the new record, which is their first since Night Network in 2020, Gary reflected on their career, revealing, “On our first records, we were just writing about our individual experiences. That’s a really verdant field of inspiration, but as you go along, life points you towards bigger things to write about.”

However, this time round, that changed again as they turned the microscope on themselves and their relationship as brothers, noting, “But this time, I realised when I was writing the lyrics that all of the songs were really rooted in the only consistent thing – and the most valuable thing – and that was our relationship as family. The thing that has seen us through to this point.”

Pre-sale for the Leeds show is set to begin on October 29th at 9am before general sale will take place on October 31st at 9am.
