“God only knows what The Beach Boys and John Stamos are thinking”: PETA condemns upcoming concert at SeaWorld

PETA have condemned The Beach Boys ahead of their upcoming performance at SeaWorld in Florida.

The concert, which will also see actor John Stamos perform with the group, is scheduled to take place on March 22nd in Orlando.

It is part of the Seven Seas Food Festival concert series, which began in January and is set to continue until May. Previous performers in 2026 include The Gene Simmons Band, Flo Rida, and Jefferson Starship.

In addition to The Beach Boys with John Stamos, other concerts upcoming at the BaySide Stadium in SeaWorld include The Fray, Soulja Boy and Boyz II Men.

Now, PETA have confirmed plans to protest, alongside members of the Animal Rights Foundation of Florida, against The Beach Boys and Stamos on March 22nd.

Highlighting the reason for the protest, PETA alleges “dolphins and whales at the facility are denied everything that’s natural to them and that dolphins are sexually abused and sometimes drugged so they can’t fight back in its breeding program.”

Additionally, PETA President Tracy Reiman said in a statement, “God only knows what The Beach Boys and John Stamos are thinking playing at this cruel abusement park, where complex marine mammals are condemned to a lifetime of misery in a dismal concrete tank.”

She then called upon The Beach Boys to cancel the live commitment, adding, “PETA is calling on the band to stick to Key Largo or Montego for tour stops and stop promoting cruel confinement of animals at SeaWorld until it releases these long-suffering animals to seaside sanctuaries.”

The date at SeaWorld marks the first show of the East Coast leg of The Beach Boys’ upcoming US tour, which will see them play amphitheatres across America until June.

This summer, they will commence upon a UK tour, with dates planned in London, Wolverhampton, Southampton, Belfast and Halifax, before returning to the US for the West Coast leg of their ongoing run of dates.

For the tour, they will be without Bruce Johnson, who quit the band after 61 years earlier this year. Mike Love is now the sole remaining member of their classic-era line-up.

The Beach Boys have not responded to PETA’s comments.
