The Batman filming halted as Robert Pattinson contracts coronavirus

Robert Pattinson has allegedly contracted coronavirus which has halted production of his eagerly anticipated new film The Batman.

The film’s production had only just restarted a few days ago in Hertfordshire and after Pattinson, unfortunately, caught the potentially dangerous virus it has been ground to a halt yet again.

The production previously shut down as did everything else in the entertainment industry as the world pressed pause because of the pandemic.

Warner Bros. would not comment to Vanity Fair on any individuals health but did share the following statement with the publication: “A member of The Batman production has tested positive for Covid-19, and is isolating in accordance with established protocols. Filming is temporarily paused.”

Pattinson said this last year on the exciting role: “I really like [director] Matt Reeves and his setup for it,” he said to Variety. “It’s an interesting direction. It’s something from the comics which hasn’t really been explored yet. It’s crazy shoes to fill.”

He added: “It’s interesting the different directions you can take with it and that the, in some ways, quite a specific character actually has a lot of leeway. When you look at the different tones of the movies and TV shows, you can do quite a lot with it.”
