As the stream of biopics seems to have no end, we were very happy to see a full documentary in the works focusing on Robbie Robertson and the Band.
The film will be produced by Marti Scorsese who has some very tidy credentials in this field having delivered a quite wonderful watch in Rolling Thunder Revue: A Bob Dylan Story recently.
The focus of the film will on Robbie Robertson and his journey, before, during and after his time with the Band. The film will hit cinemas on February 21st and is directed by Daniel Roher.
The film is being released by Magnolia Pictures and will be titled Once Were Brothers: Robbie Robertson and the Band, taking its cue from Robertson’s new solo record Sinematic.
The film will also include interviews with some of Robertson’s friends and collaborators such as Scorsese, Bruce Springsteen, Eric Clapton, Van Morrison, and more. You can watch the full trailer below:
