“Give us one more”: The touching story of the last song The Band ever played
One for the fans.

Robbie Robertson was a Canadian musician, songwriter, guitarist, producer and film composer best known as the principal songwriter and guitarist of the influential rock group The Band.
Widely regarded as one of the greatest songwriters of his generation, Robertson penned classics including ‘The Weight’, ‘The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down’ and ‘Up on Cripple Creek’, helping redefine roots rock through a fusion of Americana, folk, blues, country and rock. Following The Band’s farewell concert, immortalised in Martin Scorsese’s The Last Waltz, Robertson embarked on a successful solo career and became a longtime collaborator with Scorsese, composing and supervising music for numerous films. His work left a lasting impact on both popular music and cinema.
