Taylor Swift has no plans to tour new album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’

Taylor Swift has confirmed she has no plans to tour her new album, The Life of a Showgirl.

The new record, the 12th of Swift’s career, has been released today, and was recorded during her record-breaking Eras Tour, which took her from stadium to stadium across the globe while performing to millions in the process.

In total, Swift played 149 shows across a 21-month period between 2023 and 2024, which grossed over $2 billion in ticket sales and saw 10 million people attend the concerts.

“I would be playing shows. I would do like three shows in a row. I’d have three days off,” she explained on New Heights of the creative process of The Life of a Showgirl. “I’d fly to Sweden, go back to the tour, and was actually working on this. I was physically exhausted at this point in the tour, but I was so mentally stimulated and so excited to be creating.”

To promote the new release, Swift appeared on the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Greg James on October 3rd, and during the interview, the British radio host asked about a future tour, “Do you have the itch for another something soon?”

In response, she quickly replied, “No,” before expanding and delivering the reason why she doesn’t want to return to the road anytime soon, sharing, “No, I’m just gonna be really honest with you, I am so tired, like when I think about doing it again. Because I want to do it really well… again. You know?”

Swift also said in the same interview that she was relieved that her songwriting wasn’t impacted by the happiness in her personal life due to her relationship with Travis Kelce, telling BBC Radio 1, “I used to have this dark fear that that if I ever were truly happy and free, being myself and nurtured by a relationship, what happens if the writing just dries up?”
