Thurston Moore was born in Coral Gables, Florida, and raised primarily in Bethel, Connecticut. He married Sonic Youth co-founder Kim Gordon in 1984, and they had one daughter, Coco Hayley Moore, before separating in 2011 and divorcing in 2013. Moore later married editor and publisher Eva Prinz in 2020 and has lived in London for much of his recent career.
