The one genre The Edge said was out of their league: “More innovative”
The biggest genre in the world.

The Edge is an Irish musician, songwriter and producer best known as the guitarist, keyboardist and co-founder of the rock band U2.
Born David Howell Evans, he is widely regarded as one of the most innovative guitarists in rock history, pioneering the use of delay effects, atmospheric textures and minimalist playing to create U2’s instantly recognisable sound. Since helping form the band in Dublin in 1976, The Edge has contributed to landmark albums including ‘The Joshua Tree’, ‘Achtung Baby’, ‘All That You Can’t Leave Behind’ and ‘How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb’. Beyond U2, he has composed film scores, collaborated with numerous artists and become known for his work in music technology and humanitarian causes.
The biggest genre in the world.
The wrong kind of trendhopping.
A solid disagreement.
That one magical take never heard again.
Talent from the other side.
Becoming a bit too overblown.
The sound of a sonic architect.
The beginning of a new chapter.
Not knowing what they were doing.
