The musician who changed Roger McGuinn’s entire personality: “Disappointed a lot of rock fans”
An interesting change.

The Byrds were an American rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in 1964 by Roger McGuinn, Gene Clark, David Crosby, Chris Hillman and Michael Clarke.
Widely regarded as one of the most influential bands of the 1960s, they pioneered folk rock by blending the songwriting of Bob Dylan with the harmony-driven sound of The Beatles. Their signature use of the 12-string Rickenbacker guitar helped define a new style of rock music, while later albums explored psychedelic rock and country rock, influencing generations of artists. Through classic recordings including ‘Mr. Tambourine Man’, ‘Turn! Turn! Turn!’, ‘Eight Miles High’ and ‘Sweetheart of the Rodeo’, The Byrds left a lasting legacy on folk, psychedelic, country and alternative rock.
“My brains just ran out my nose onto the floor in a puddle”.
Still nostalgic for the past.
Not to the UK’s taste.
One of the greatest of all time.
