“We were kind of outsiders”: St Vincent’s ode to life growing up in Dallas
Looking back.

St Vincent is an American musician, singer, songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist whose inventive approach to art rock, indie rock and experimental pop has made her one of the most acclaimed artists of the 21st century.
Born Annie Clark, she first gained recognition as a member of the Polyphonic Spree and Sufjan Stevens’ touring band before launching a solo career in 2007. Across acclaimed albums including ‘Actor’, ‘Strange Mercy’, the self-titled ‘St. Vincent’, ‘Masseduction’, ‘Daddy’s Home’ and ‘All Born Screaming’,
Clark has earned praise for her virtuosic guitar playing, theatrical performances and genre-defying songwriting. Known for continually reinventing her sound and visual identity, St. Vincent has become one of contemporary music’s most influential and innovative artists.
The album comes out on March 20th.
“In the hands of the beholder…”
The power of reinvention.
The tension of star and space.
A wonder to behold.
