Sharon Van Etten is an American musician, singer, songwriter, producer and actor celebrated for her emotionally direct songwriting and evolving musical style.
Emerging from the indie folk scene in the late 2000s, she has continually expanded her sound to incorporate indie rock, dream pop, synth-pop and post-punk influences while retaining the intimate lyricism that first earned her critical acclaim. Albums including ‘Tramp’, ‘Are We There’, ‘Remind Me Tomorrow’ and ‘We’ve Been Going About This All Wrong’ established her as one of the defining voices in contemporary independent music.
Alongside her recording career, Van Etten has appeared in television and film, including the Netflix series ‘The OA’. In 2025, she launched the collaborative project Sharon Van Etten & the Attachment Theory, marking a new chapter in her artistic career.
An enduring influence.
