Buddy Guy is an American blues guitarist, singer and songwriter widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential blues musicians of all time.
Emerging from the Chicago blues scene in the late 1950s, Guy became renowned for his explosive guitar playing, expressive vocals and electrifying live performances. Although his commercial success came later in his career, his innovative style profoundly influenced generations of rock and blues guitarists, including Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Stevie Ray Vaughan and John Mayer.
Through landmark albums such as Damn Right, I’ve Got the Blues, Sweet Tea and The Blues Is Alive and Well, Buddy Guy has remained one of the foremost ambassadors of the blues for more than six decades.
