Sydney Sweeney reveals that Angus Cloud’s death still hasn’t “hit” her yet
Euphoria‘s Sydney Sweeney has revealed that the death of her co-star Angus Cloud still doesn’t feel real.
Cloud portrayed drug dealer Fezco, known for his kindhearted nature, in the popular HBO teen drama. The character became a fan favourite, launching the actor’s career.
Euphoria was Cloud’s first acting job – he was scouted for the role on the street with no previous experience in the business. After landing the part, he also appeared in various music videos and movies, such as North Hollywood.
In July 2023, Cloud was found dead at the age of 25, with his cause of death later being revealed as an accidental drug overdose. A coroner explained that he had passed away due to “acute intoxication due to combined effects of methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl and benzodiazepines.”
Upon the news of his death, his co-stars posted tributes to their beloved friend, with Sweeney taking to Instagram to describe him as an “open soul,” adding, “You filled every room with laughter.”
However, in a new interview, Sweeney shared with Glamour, “I don’t think it’ll truly feel real or hit me until we’re filming and I won’t see Angus on set.”
She added, “When we are filming, all of our eyes are on each other and we’re there for each other, just in a different way than we’re able to when we’re all in very separate places in the world. It’s really interesting when someone passes away in our industry, because they’re still there in so many forms.”
The third season of Euphoria is set to air in 2025.
