Watch Sydney Sweeney and Julianne Moore star in trailer for ‘Echo Valley’

Apple TV+ has shared the first trailer for Echo Valley, which stars Sydney Sweeney and Julianne Moore as a mother-daughter partnership.

The movie stars Moore as Kate Garretson, who attempts to recover from a turbulent set of circumstances in her personal life at the isolated, 22-acre Echo Valley Farm in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

However, one evening, Garretson’s life is turned upside down upon the arrival of her daughter Claire, portrayed by Sweeney, who suffers from addiction issues. Claire is covered in the blood of another, and the thriller tests the bond between a mother and her daughter.

Speaking to Vanity Fair, Sweeney previously said of playing Claire in the movie and how real-life experience influenced her performance: “I’ve had a lot of family members deal with addiction and then struggle with similar issues as Claire and her friends, and her group that she hangs out with. I’ve kind of had firsthand experience with it.”

Additionally, in preparation for the movie, Sweeney used YouTube as a tool and spent countless hours watching interviews of addicts being interviewed on Skid Row in Los Angeles, which provided more insight that helped her with the role.

Sweeney explained: “I mean, there’s a manipulation underneath a lot of it. But when there was love in the air in the room, you truly still felt it. The person that they are at the core, as buried as they might be, is still there.”

Meanwhile, Moore noted of her character: “There’s a lot of action in this movie, but she’s an ordinary person. What she does is extraordinary because she’s faced with it, not because she is able to do this stuff. She just feels that she has to.”

The movie, written by Brad Inglesby and directed by Michael Pearce, arrives on Apple TV+ on June 13th, 2025.
