‘Superman’ sequel delays ‘A Quiet Place III’

A Quiet Place III has been in the works for quite some time, but now, fans of the franchise are going to have to wait slightly longer, as the release date has been pushed back in light of the new Superman movie release date.

A Quiet Place III was originally set for release through Paramount Pictures on July 9th, 2027. Director John Krasinski and Allyson Seeger’s Sunday Night Productions will produce the feature, along with Platinum Dunes.

However, the release date has now been pushed back three weeks, to account for the new Superman follow-up, Man of Tomorrow, which was set for cinematic release on the same day. With this manoeuvre, the new instalment will avoid a bloody box office fight.

In August, Superman director James Gunn announced that he had finished working on the follow-up to his latest blockbuster hit. Aked about the status of his next Superman instalment, he shared, “I’ve already finished the treatment for the next story in what I’ll call the Superman Saga. The treatment is done, which means a very, very worked out treatment.”

A Quiet Place was a roaring success as soon as it was released. It grossed over $350 million at the global box office. The 2020 sequel, A Quiet Place Part II, also made about $300 million and proved that the franchise has retained its commercial viability.

Far Out previously observed of the series, “The ingenious conceit of monsters that hunt by sound was inspired, and Emily Blunt’s formidable central performance was so good that she’s the only person since 2008 to have won a Screen Actors Guild Award for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Supporting Role’ that didn’t go on to win the Academy Award. In fact, she wasn’t even nominated.”
