Watch Stevie Nicks and Sabrina Carpenter perform ‘Landslide’ at Met Gala
Attendees of the Met Gala were in for a treat last night, as Sabrina Carpenter and Stevie Nicks joined forces for a duet of the iconic Fleetwood Mac song, ‘Landslide’.
The event, organised by fashion guru Anna Wintour, takes place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York; around 600 guests are admitted to the venue after a star-studded walk-in carpet.
Once guests were inside, global popstar Carpenter treated them to a rendition of three of her hits, ‘House Tour’, ‘Espresso’, and ‘Please, Please, Please’, fit with a five-piece orchestra, a four-person band, and four back-up dancers.
Following this, actor Joshua Henry read an excerpt from Walt Whitman’s poem ‘I Sing the Body Electric’, before Nicks took to the stage to perform ‘Landslide’ alongside Carpenter.
Following this, she soaked up the limelight solo with renditions of ‘Gypsy’ and ‘Edge of Seventeen’, before ending with ‘Don’t Stop Thinking About Tomorrow’ with a 12-person choir.
Nicks wrote ‘Landslide’ in 1973 in Colorado, inspired by her tumultuous experience in the industry alongside Lindsey Buckingham. It was later featured on the 1975 album, Fleetwood Mac.
A-listers gathered at the event to celebrate this year’s fashion theme, ‘Costume Art’. Attendees included Nicole Kidman, Connor Storrie, Rihanna, Madonna, Charli XCX, Lena Dunham, and more.
The performance portion of the evening is always a highly anticipated affair. In 2025, Stevie Wonder and Usher took to the stage, while Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo performed together in 2024. In 2021, it was Kacey Musgraves and Lenny Kravitz’s time to shine.
Carpenter has been busy as of late on the duet front; recently, in the lead-up to her new album, Confessions II, Madonna released the official recording of ‘Bring Your Love‘, which they first debuted together at Coachella festival.
Madonna told the crowd it was a “thrill” and “full circle moment” to be back at the festival, where she had performed two decades prior to the day.
