Sorry announce new album ‘Cosplay’

London-based band Sorry have announced their third studio album, Cosplay, will be released in November.

Accompanying the news is a new single, ‘Echoes’, a song which is out now on all streaming platforms. According to their press release, the new single is “inspired by a poem about the story of a boy shouting echo into a tunnel waiting for his reply.”

The music video for ‘Echoes’, which will also be the opening track on the new album, shows a pair of twins painting in orange-tinted gold, singing the lyrics to one another, and walking through a city in the summertime. “Echo, echo, echo I love you,” the chorus insists. Eventually, the pair turn blue after their echoing emotions and movements become violently charged. Flasha Prod is behind the surreal video.

The lyrics expand on this tricky relationship: “We could end it here / Or we can go back to the start / You can draw your line / Well, I can draw my dot / I think we’re losing now / I think we’re fucking it up,” Asha Lorenz sings.

According to the band, Cosplay will be “the culmination of Sorry’s anything goes approach, a dizzying whirlwind of ideas, disguises, and subterfuge distilled into the most thrilling and heartfelt album of their career.” In 2021, Far Out deemed Sorry’s song ‘Cigarette Packet’ one of the best of the year.

Following dates on tour with Fontaines DC, the band have also announced their own North American run, which will kick off December 3rd in Washington DC. They will also visit New York, Toronto, Chicago, and Portland before wrapping up in Los Angeles on December 20th.

Sorry will also be playing four upcoming dates with The Maccabees. They will join the stage with the Far Out cover stars on August 17th and 18th in Dublin, and August 21st and 22nd in Manchester.
