Kiss’ Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley’s sons announce debut album as Stanley Simmons

Stanley Simmons, a band comprising the sons of Kiss legends Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley, have announced their debut album, titled Dancing While the World Is Ending.

Evan Stanley and Nick Simmons previously released their first single, ‘Body Down’, in December, and have since followed up with the project’s title track.

Alongside this, the band, still somewhat in their infancy, have announced their first-ever live shows, kicking off in San Diego on May 4th.

Following on from the live events, another single, ‘Temporary Love’, will be released on May 8th in a run-up to the August 28th release date.

Late last year, Nick also revealed that he’s received praise for the music the pair have been making from his father, sharing, “My father is the master of the backhanded compliment, he was like, ‘This is much better than the last thing you showed me’, and I was like, ‘Oh, you said some nice things about that’, and he goes, ‘Nothing compared to this’.”

The band’s sound is a far cry from the heavy metal that might be expected of them, and instead leans into folk-rock, with a tinge of psychedelia.

Still, Paul was happy to celebrate the work of his son, sharing with WCSX, “It’s amazing that totally organically, Evan, my son and Nick, Gene’s son, about a year ago started making music together.”

He added, “They’ve known each other their whole lives, but this bond they’ve had with music and this album they’ve done is crazy good. I heard it and I just went ‘wow, this is nuts.’ And it’s nothing like KISS, but it’s so smart, and the writing is great.”
