Sonic Youth’s Thurston Moore has shared his new nine-minute instrumental song ‘Strawberry Moon’.
Recorded at Daydream Library in London, the new track comes amid a wave of unreleased material that is making its way on to Bandcamp from Moore and his fellow Sonic Youth bandmates.
Many of the archival recordings made available by Sonic Youth arrived as an effort to help alleviate the boredom of self-isolation while millions of music fans remained stuck inside amid strict social distancing measures.
In fact, it was only a matter of weeks ago that the band released audio of 12 featured performances that included some of their most famous live shows that have all been shared on Sonic Youth’s Bandcamp page.
For now though, Moore is back to his own solo material for his latest effort.
Speaking about the track, Moore took to social media to sat that the material arrives as “a celebration of the strawberry ( full ) moon vibrations – free energy for change,” he wrote in a tweet.
