Sonic Youth have done their bit to help alleviate the boredom of self-isolation and released hours of archival footage of their legendary live shows.
The 12 featured performances include some of their most famous live shows that have all been shared on Sonic Youth’s Bandcamp page.
The gigs documented in the release included a show at New York’s legendary punk venue CBGB’s in 1988, San Francisco’s The Warfield in 1993, and a special gig in Glasgow in 2007.
As well as those mega-performances there is the band’s final performance in Williamsburg, Brooklyn in 2011. A sad moment in their fandom’s history.
Sonic Youth are just one of many artists who have gone online to share either new music or old sessions. Megastars like Neil Young have led the way with entertaining the masses in self-isolation.
