Slipknot’s Corey Taylor has written a script for a horror film

Despite being busy on the road in support of Slipknot’s most recent album We Are Not Your Kind, Corey Taylor has been working on a surprise film script.

The band’s frontman, who is also putting the finishing touches on a new book and solo album, has taken his creative drive into cinema with a planned horror film. “I wrote a script for a horror movie that I’m really stoked about,” Taylor recently said in a Kerrang interview.

“And I just broke the skin on book five, so I’m working on that, as well,” he added. “I’ve got a lot of things going on, but I’m also making sure there’s plenty of time for my family, my marriage and home. God knows, you never know how much time you’re gonna get there.”

Taylor, who joined Slipknot in 1997 to replace their original vocalist, has subsequently released six studio albums with the band and become synonymous with their sound and lyrical style.

Taylor, who caused a ripple of speculation when he recently admitted that Slipknot would be able to continue without him as lead vocalist, also detailed his new solo material: “I’m starting to get material together for a solo album that I’m going to record in 2021,” he said.

“Some of it is a reflection of being sick and tired of this nutless rock ‘n’ roll I’ve seen lately that is real soft. I like my rock ‘n’ roll to kick me in the fucking nuts. That’s just me though, I’m a fucking dick!”
