Sheryl Crow condemns “disgraceful” UFC event at the White House: “To stay quiet means to turn a blind eye”
Sheryl Crow has condemned the UFC event that took place on the lawn of the White House on June 14th.
The combat sport event, titled UFC Freedom 250, was part of the USA’s ongoing celebrations of its 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
Notably, it was attended by President Donald Trump, JD Vance, Robert Kennedy Jr, and many other major figures in the current administration.
Taking to Instagram Stories on June 15th, Crow, who has been a vocal critic of Trump in the past, wrote, “To stay quiet means to turn a blind eye. And so I am saying this. What happened last night was disgraceful and void of decency.”
She continued, “Powerful rich people filled the lawn to watch a violent sport that ended with a vile and racist comment. all while the average American cannot afford healthcare, gas and cost of living.”
The comment that Crow referred to UFC fighter Josh Hokit, who said in his post-fight speech after securing victory, “And lastly, Michelle Obama is a man. Am I right, America?”
UFC president Dana White has since condemned Hokit, stating, “I understand that the Obama’s are public figures but I’m completely against saying nasty and false things about people’s families. Everyone knows my position on free speech but I hate that kind of nonsense.”
In Crow’s lengthy post, she then redirected her frustration at the Trump regime, adding, “Do not be fooled. This administration is corrupt and does not give a damn about the American people. It only cares about making money hand over first at the expense and in spite of our democracy.”
The ‘My Favorite Mistake’ singer continued, “If we continue to support this kind of distraction from reality, we are no better than them.”
Crow finished her rallying cry by urging her fans, “Let’s be better, America.”
Her latest comments about the administration come after the singer-songwriter previously called for Trump to be “impeached and imprisoned” over the Epstein files in February. She also released the political single, ‘The New Normal’, in 2025, as an act of protest against Trump’s government.
