Sharon Osbourne tells “uneducated” Kneecap to be more like Bono
Sharon Osbourne has again criticised Kneecap and labelled the band “uneducated” amid a police investigation into the band.
As a response to Kneecap’s political statement in support of Palestine at Coachella last month, Osbourne took to X to condemn the band along with Goldenvoice, the company that organises Coachella, writing, “Coachella 2025 will be remembered as a festival that compromised its moral and spiritual integrity. Goldenvoice, the festival organizer, facilitated this by allowing artists to use the Coachella stage as a platform for political expression.”
Osbourne also said in her post, “I urge you to join me in advocating for the revocation of Kneecap’s work visa.”
Now, in an appearance on Piers Morgan Uncensored on May 1st, Osbourne reiterated her stance, stating, “My whole stance is have your own stance politically, couldn’t give a damn what you believe in but don’t bring it to a musical festival where there’s peace. Music unites people, music doesn’t separate people.”
Osbourne then criticised the band’s manager, Daniel Lambert, who Morgan claimed was due to appear on the programme but “bottled it”, saying, “You can tell there’s not much up there”.
She added: “It’s all insane that this should be allowed to continue where there are young people, drinking or doing whatever they want to do, it’s their business, but don’t try to incite violence with their fist, attitude. Their whole attitude is one of anger, it’s not of peace.”
The music manager then told Kneecap to take a leaf out of U2 frontman Bono’s book, adding, “They should follow the masters, who are U2, Bono goes on, he talks about Palestine. He does it in peace. He’s pro-Palestine, that’s his opinion Bono, god bless him, but he does it in such a way that it doesn’t incite violence from a crowd.”

Osbourne, who previously called on the US to revoke Kneecap’s visas, also said of this issue, “What a great decision, there’s enough problems. We don’t need in America this coming in. They are uneducated, when was the last time they went to the Middle East? They are using cliched slogans, nothing they are saying is original, they are not bringing anything to the table. Nothing except anger.”
Despite Osbourne’s comments, which suggest Kneecap have had their visas revoked, they currently retain their right to work in the US.
Elsewhere in the discussion, Osbourne pressured Glastonbury to remove the band from the festival, saying, “I pray they are, and if they are not, shame on Glastonbury”. She claimed their reputation would be “destroyed” by Kneecap if they weren’t taken off the bill. Osbourne called the trio “pathetic” and “full of hate”.
Kneecap’s Mo Chara previously hit back at Osbourne and told her to listen to her husband’s band Black Sabbath’s anti-war anthem ‘War Pigs’, stating, “Her rant has so many holes in it that it hardly warrants a reply but she should listen to ‘War Pigs’ that was written by Black Sabbath (her husband).”
On May 1st, London’s Metropolitan Police confirmed they would investigate Kneecap further after the counter-terrorism department was notified of two videos from their concerts in November 2023 and November 2024, respectively. No member of the band has been charged.
