Sharon Osbourne has removed band from Black Sabbath farewell show line-up

Sharon Osbourne has confirmed that she has removed a band from the line-up of the upcoming Black Sabbath farewell show, Back to the Beginning.

The music mogul and wife of Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne told Metal Hammer on June 6th that she had been forced to remove a band from the stacked line-up due to their manager “making up bullshit lies.”

The farewell show, which is set to take place on July 5th at Villa Park in Birmingham, features a huge line-up of stars including Guns N’ Roses, Metallica, and Slayer across an all-day event.

However, explaining that one such band has now lost their slot, Osbourne said: “I had a huge, huge to-do with a manager over this celebration for Ozzy and Sabbath. And it was probably the worst way I’ve felt in years.”

She continued: “I don’t care what this person says about me, thinks about it, because he doesn’t know me. And he’s now going around making up bullshit lies because I threw his band off the bill.”

Osbourne did not make clear which band had been kicked off the line-up, but fans quickly speculated that it could be Tool after their name was removed from the website for the concert. However, the band have confirmed that they are still performing, and their name has been reinstated.

“I care about people who love me, what they say about me,” Osbourne noted, before adding: “You can’t care what an industry says, because you don’t love them, so how can it hurt you? It doesn’t.”

The upcoming show has been cast in drama ever since it was announced, with various doubts raised over the Black Sabbath frontman’s ability to perform due to his increasing health issues. He recently said: “All I can say is I’m giving 120%. If my God wants me to do the show, I’ll do it.”

Due to demand for the show, Osbourne announced last week that a worldwide pay-per-view livestream would be made available for £24.99.
