Sarah Jessica Parker confirms she “would like” to make ‘Hocus Pocus 3’
Sarah Jessica Parker has shared a potential update on the making of the Disney movie Hocus Pocus 3, stating simply, “We would like to do it.”
The actor was appearing on a recent episode of the talk show Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen when she revealed that discussions for the third instalment of the Halloween movie were in the works, but with no concrete plans just yet.
“No more developments other than we would like to do it,” Parker explained when asked about the film’s potential progress, before adding, “We’ve been having some conversations.”
These relatively elusive comments come after Parker’s co-star in the movie, Bette Midler, jokingly urged Disney to get moving on making Hocus Pocus 3 in an interview last year, as she noted that she had only “heard rumblings” about its production but not seen a script.
She said: “I think if they’re gonna [do it], they oughtta because time is not just marching. Time is barrel-assing to the finish line. Get us while we’re still breathing, I mean, God!”
The development of Hocus Pocus 3 was announced two years ago by Sean Bailey, the president of Walt Disney Motion Picture Productions. It is set to act as a follow-up to the beloved original 1993 movie, directed by Kenny Ortega, which later received a sequel on Disney+ in 2022.
However, in that time, no firm evidence of the film’s development has ever been revealed, other than the brief comments made by two of its leading actors.
The premise of the first film followed Parker, Midler, and Kathy Najimy as three witches who accidentally become resurrected one Halloween night in Salem, Massachusetts, by a teenage boy.
